I saw this ad today and it looks like a hell of a deal. Let me know what you think? I recall you have a few of these.

First of all the seller is using an old picture of MY GUITAR! Must have a talk with him!
IF it turns out to be in any where near as good condition as mine buy it.
This is an absolutely awesome guitar for ridiculous money.

Re: Barry! thoughts on this one.
I have just sent the seller a notice to remove my picture or I'll report him for copyright infringement.
That Was one of the first pictures I took of this guitar about 3 years ago and is still circulating on the 'net.
I have since done a full detailing and a bridge replacement on it and it now looks like this:

If you are following up on this confirm that the guitar is a Thunder I model. Mine is a I-A (Active) which has a volume boost circuit on board. Both good guitars but different.

Re: Barry! thoughts on this one.
They have posted new photos, I'd say late '90's cell phone quality. It doesnt look nearly as nice as yours and it only has the one coil tap switch and I think the truss rod cover says Thunder 1 - not 1 A. Did you get a reply to your email? I saw a Hagstrom picture I had on the net used in an ad once. Didnt really mind except most of my basement was showing.

Hey Barry,
While we're pickin your brain
there's a Quest Atak 1 that's been hanging in a local pawn shop for a few months now. Are the all black ones Mats made or if it does'nt say "by Vantage" does that mean it's Korean ? Neat little guitar for $80.00

Re: Barry! thoughts on this one.
Quest was made by Matsumoku, sometimes using the "by Vantage" on the headstock, but not often. The Atak 1's came in Red and black and also had a tremolo bridge version. Good little guitars for the $$$ if you liek the odd shape.
There is a little weakness in the input jack though which was mounted to the plastic pick guard; prone to breaking. (The electronics are mounted like a Strat.
Grab it if you like it.

Just checked. The ad is down. Either sold or they're re-grouping.mikedem wrote:They have posted new photos, I'd say late '90's cell phone quality...

Quick followup on the Thunder ad...the seller did reply to me with an apology and replaced my picture with his own. He asked about the guitar's worth (of course
) and I gave him some info and the approx value. He then notified me that he sold it very quickly to someone for $250 which was in the middle of the range I gave him. Very polite fellow, and happy to get $100 more than he originally asked for.
Nice to know they're not all a-holes out there.
