My El Degas Goldtop

Post by joseywales »

Hi all,

First of, I would like to thank Charles for putting this site together and helping me post my photos. As we have all found out, there is very little info out there on these great guitars.

This guitar is an El Degas LP Goldtop. I picked this baby up from a music store graveyard for 20 bucks. It had no pickups and no tuners, i put in Gibson PAF pups and Grover tuners.

I dont know very much about this guitar, it is 2 peices of mahogony sandwiched and weighs about 10lbs and has a great beefy tone.

Sorry about the photo quaity( batteries low and hours away from a recharge), I will post some better quality picks in the coming days.

Hope you enjoy...and this is a great site!

Nice Guitar.. what a great buy, as I say no one knows so they can go cheap. The way to tell is if it is a great play or not.
Thanks for posting

Good buy! I love gold tops. :D
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.

El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42  (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)

A good buy and a good guitar.
It does not get much better than that.
