In case anyone's noticed the last several months of the forum going offline with a 509 - Bandwidth Exceeded error:
AI bots have been swarming the site for months - I assume to train on the El Degas info that's been shared here and ingest it into their LLMs. Any increase to the bandwidth (I've done several) has just been instantly gobbled up by these bots.
I've considered simply shuttering the forum. Instead, I am trying some back-end tools to prevent AI bot traffic. I am not sure if it will work.
F*** AI.

I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.
El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42
(13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)
